The Rosette Nebula (Caldwell 49) is an emission nebula that forms massive stars located about 5,000 light-years away in the Monoceros constellation

It is composed of glowing, ionized hydrogen gas, which is to due intense radiation from the young, hot stars placed within its core, forged from the nebula's material

This nebula is one of the most prominent star-forming regions in our galaxy, spanning nearly 130 light-years in diameter

Its name, Rosette Nebula, is inspired by its rose-like shape, formed from swirling gas and dust
